“George, you can type this shit, but you sure can’t say it”
Based on the famous actor’s quote on George Lucas’ bad dialogues when filming Star Wars, this high-energy rock banger deals with writer’s block, self-indulgence, and other pitfalls a writer can run into. True to the sound you’ve come to expect from Hate It Too over the years, “Harrison Ford” sets the pace for the soon-to-come EP “Gaslighting”, a follow-up to their last album “Lampshading” released not so long ago in 2020.
lyrics
I’ve been avoiding words lately
As much as I have been lazy
The moment left along with my last shot
At digging far too deep
To return out of depth and empty-handed
You can write that shit, but you sure can’t say it
Break me down, so I can channel every feeling
Every shortcoming through water metaphors
All these jaded lines to picture a skewed vision
Even self-destruction now feels old
I’ve been avoiding words lately
They always sound so dramatic
Tear down every opened door and feel the cold
The overwhelming silence
When everything’s been said and overthought
You can write that shit, can you ever mean it?
Break me down, so I can channel every feeling
Every shortcoming through water metaphors
All these jaded lines to picture a skewed vision
Even self-destruction now feels old
Gather everything you’ve got
See for yourself the mess it is when contradictions pile on
And all the cracks show up
And the structure fails under its own weight
Break me down, so I can channel every feeling
Every shortcoming through water metaphors
All these jaded lines to picture a skewed vision
Even self-destruction now feels old
